In Magic: The Gathering, a Draft Booster is the most affordable booster types compared to Set and Collector Boosters. They are the original Booster and continue to be used for Magic: The Gathering formats such as Draft and Sealed.
Draft Booster is the modern name for the original Magic: The Gathering booster pack which have existed since the trading card game began in 1993. The rebrand started in Throne of Eldraine since Collector and Theme Boosters also became available during the set's release. As the name suggests, Draft Boosters are for the Limited (Draft or Sealed) format for a set. The Draft Booster favors playing experience instead of simply cracking packs for fun unlike with Set and Collector Boosters.
Draft Boosters come with a fixed distribution based on rarity. A typical Draft Booster comes with a total of sixteen cards. Fifteen are playable Magic: The Gathering cards, with the last card, either being a marketing card or token. With this distribution, the Draft Booster comes with the following:
One Basic Land
Ten Commons (one has a chance to be a foil of any rarity)
Three Uncommons
One Rare (with a one in eight chance of being a Mythic Rare instead)
Distribution can change depending on the set, such as Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, which includes double-faced cards. Double Masters 2022 is another exception since there are two rares (or mythics) in each Draft Booster pack. Unlike Set and Collector Boosters, Draft Booster Boxes come with thirty-six boosters in a box, making this product line the most boosters you can grab in a single box.
