When the 550 came back in 2020, it was thanks an avid New Balance collector that the Boston label could even recreate the shoe as they didn’t have a pair in their own archive. Undoubtedly commemorating those OG 550s from 1989, this novel rendition features a premium white leather complete with college red leather accents while faux scuffed detailing adorns the jewel logos on the laterals. Underfoot we find more of the retro treatment as the 550s bouncy foam sole is given a vintage lemon wash for an authentically vintage feel.
