Today quality oil is mass produced on plantations to provide plentiful low cost oil for sales worldwide. -Tea Tree oil has a reputation for being powerful against a broad range of bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Aboriginals used to crush the leaves in their hand and inhale the oil to treat colds and headaches. In the 1920's Tea Tree leaves were first distilled to produce the essential oil. It was quickly discovered the oil was a more powerful germicide than many that were in use and it was quickly cultivated. By World War II, Tea Tree oil farmers were exempt from military service until sufficient stock of Tea Tree essential oil were produced. -Some Reputed Benefits: In addition to Tea Tree essential oils ability to fight infection, it is thought to stimulates the body's natural immune system and production of white blood cells to fight infection. -It is one of the best oils for fighting fungal infections such as athlete's foot and nail fungus and thrush.
