With eight types to choose from, you’re sure to find the best tamper base that matches your equipment and technique. [FLAT] A classic tamper base that’s suitable for a wide range of applications. Available in 51mm, 51.5mm, 53.3mm, 57mm, 58mm, 58.5mm. [C FLAT] The slightly convex shape of the C Flat tamper base was created to solve channelling around the puck. Its bevelled edge can also be an advantage to certain tamping techniques. Available in 58.5mm and 53.3mm. [EURO FLAT] With a deeper edge than the C Flat but is not totally convex like curved tamper bases. Euro Flat tamper bases prevent potential mounding of the puck if you don’t use a WDT or distributor tool. Available in 58.5mm and 53.3mm. [US CURVE] Designed for deeper baskets and also to solve channelling along the basket’s edges. A curved tamper base can create a seal between the basket’s wall and the coffee puck to prevent water from seeping through the sides. Available in 58.5mm and 53.3mm. [EURO CURVE] Similar to the US Curve tamper base but more convex in comparison. Some might find this tamper base more effective in solving particularly persistent “doughnut” issues or work better with certain baskets styles. Available in 58.5mm and 53.3mm. [WAFFLE] By creating intricately-spaced grooves across the puck, the Waffle tamper base helps to disperse water more evenly all over the coffee bed and prevents doughnut extractions. Available in 58.5mm and 53.3mm. [RIPPLE] Sharing the same principles as the Waffle tamper base, the Ripple tamper base features concentric circles that will create uniform grooves on the puck. This form of controlled water micro channelling will help to saturate the coffee bed evenly.
